Signing the Listen Value Invest declaration

Now the General Election has been called we're asking you to sign the Listen Value Invest declaration, calling for the incoming government and other decision-makers to commit to listen to, value and invest in people, communities and the Third Sector.

We'll be presenting all the signatures to the decision-makers, and asking them to act on our call. Therefore, the more people who sign it the more powerful our voice will be!

Listen Value Invest in Bolton

I had a great time at Bolton's Third Sector Forum last week, where I was able to speak to a wide range of groups about the Listen Value Invest campaign.



We also did a brief workshop looking at the stories the different groups represented there had to tell - it was inspirational to hear about ex-offenders who'd become community champions, early interventions that had brought significant health benefits to people and much more.

Earlier this week I spoke to a gathering of ther Crime & Disorder Partnership leads in Greater Manchester about Listen, Value, Invest - we have previously presented to all the others in the region at events in Chester and Preston. In addition to

Launch of Listen Value Invest in Parliament

Listen Value Invest launch: the final countdown

The Listen Value Invest campaign will be launched on Tuesday 2 March in a special event at the Houses of Parliament, sponsored by Tony Cunningham MP.



At the launch we will be showcasing some of the stories we've collected which demonstrate voluntary and community groups transforming lives, improving communities and delivering real social and economic value for the North West of England.

Churches Together in Cockermouth: after the floods

When serious floods hit West Cumbria in November 2009, Churches Together in Cockermouth mobilised quickly to help those affected. Members set up emergency reception centres providing food, warmth and rest, for residents who had lost everything and the emergency services.
